THEFUTUREOFNORMAL PHASE IS SIMPLE- FAST- GREEN TharSFCintroduces the new Method Station II Supercritical Fluid Chromatography ( SFC) System. Designed for high throughput andhighresolution of demanding separations encountered in drugresearch and development, this new analytical system features a faster, higher capacity autosampler, a larger Analytical- 2- PrepTMcolumn oven, and new and improved software. These new features provide unprecedented flexibility in an instrument that has a smaller footprint. For more information go to waters. com/ SFC © 2009Waters Corporation. 28November/ December 2009 laserchrom in association with We have extended our range of courses in the lab, run new courses at your premises and have a new range of off site courses For more information, please visit us at: www. laserchrom. com An exciting new range ofHPLC Courses Discounts On- line Courses from £ 195 New Chiral Separations Laboratory Operational Since 1995 Chiral Technologies Europe ( CTE) has offered a contract chiral separation service which utilised HPLC and Simulated Moving Bed ( SMB) technology to separate 10 g to 100 kg quantities at our laboratories in Illkirch ( near Strasbourg) France. From 2006 they additionally offered to rapidly screen and separate smaller quantities of chiral pharmaceutical molecules. This service utilises HPLC and Super Critical Fluid chromatography to separate mg to multi g samples. Since 2006 their laboratories have separated an increasing number of samples for Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical, Agrochemical and Flavour/ Fragrance companies. The combination of a fast free screen, high yield, high specification and low cost has resulted in this approach being the route of preference to obtain initial quantities of both chiral isomers for toxicological and early biological studies. In 2008 their capacity to separate compounds was nearing exhaustion. Hence they have designed and commissioned a new laboratory specific to the needs of custom small scale chiral separations. For more information visit www. chiral. fr Available from Hichrom Limited, Rheodyne MX Series II automated switching valves provide simple solutions to complex fluid switching and sample injection needs, enabling chromatographers to increase productivity in today's demanding analytical laboratory. They are available in a wide variety of formats including nano, analytical, semi- prep, low pressure and ultra- fast ( UPLC). MX Series II valves can be connected to your current HPLC instrument in several ways to support a variety of fluid switching applications including:- Sample injection, Two column selection, Alternating column regeneration, High speed sample enrichment and clean up, Column backflushing, Multi- dimensional proteomic peptide separation, Solvent selection, Fraction collection and Six column selection.
